Family and friends often serve as models for his drawings and this work is a portrait of Wyatt's cousin Kevin from when he was about 10 years old. Kevin was an engaging child with a voracious imagination and big dreams that loved action movies and Wyatt drew this portrait of him during that particularly hard time when a child is navigating the changes in themselves and becoming aware of the influence from the neighborhood and other people. The drawing was meant to empower Kevin, but also empowers the viewer who may be walking a thin line as well.
